Personal Leadership Foundations (choose one):
BUSMHR 2210 – Personal Leadership and Team Effectiveness (3)
Effective management practices and how leadership practices lead to effective team and organizational performance.
BUSMHR 3211 - Leadership and Character (3)
Issues of leadership as related to value-based decision making, character, and personal integrity.
COMLDR 3530 -- Foundations of Personal and Professional Leadership (3)
Leadership theories, principles, and concepts. Research-based theories, methods of social scientific inquiry, individual strengths, personal leadership philosophy and vision, concepts of diversity and ethics, and professional development plan.
ESHESA 2572 - Introduction to Leadership Development in Learning Organizations (3)
Concepts and strategies that are necessary to be an effective leader. Through a variety of leadership assessments, students will learn about their leadership styles and preferences.
Repeatable to a maximum of 12 credit hours.

Team and Organizational Leadership (choose one):
AEDECON 3160 - Human Resource Management in Small Businesses (2)
Human resource planning, job analysis, organizational structure, recruitment and selection, training, motivation, leadership, communication, compensation, and evaluating employee performance in context of small businesses.
Prerequisites: Junior standing. Not open to students with credit for 460 or 560.
BUSMHR 3100 - Foundations of Management and Human Resources (3)
The study of human behavior in organizational settings.
Prerequisites: Math 1130 (130), Econ 2001.01 (200), and CSE 100, or equivalent. Not open to students with credit for 400 or 701. Not open to students enrolled in the Fisher College of Business.
BUSMHR 3220 - Leadership Legacy (3)
Exposes students to practical applications of good organizational management and leadership practices.
Prerequisites: English 1110.01 or equivalent. Not open to students with credit for 542.
BUSMHR 4221 - Concepts and Competencies for Managing People (3)
Application of concepts to managing oneself and others in real work situations, includes practice of behavioral skills such as delegation, persuasion and performance feedback.
Prerequisities: 2291 (BusAdm 499.01); and 3100 (400), or 3200 (701) and BusMgt 2320 (330). Not open to students with credit for 704.
COMLDR 4430 - Leadership in Teams and Community Organizations (3)
Principles and strategies involved in leading teams and community organizations. Students will examine leadership dynamics in small groups and reflect on applications in various settings. Team service project with student or community organization.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for AEE 442.
COMM 3325 - Introduction to Organizational Communication (3)
Addresses prior and current approaches to the study of organizational communication.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 325.
COMM 4635 - Small Group Communication (3)
Examination of selected topics in small group communication such as: communication in decision making, conflict management, effective small group practice, current small group communication concepts and research, use of communication technologies.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 635.
ESPHE 3200H - Mindful Resilience: Individuals to Organizations (3)
The overarching framework for the course is a critical exploration of mindfulness practices and their influence on how individuals and groups function. Exploring the physiological impact of mindfulness on the individual, students will then be able to critically examine and apply these practices to communication, implicit bias, awareness of the self and others.
ESHESA 2570 - Team and Organizational Leadership (3)
Overview of the theory and skills necessary for the practice of effective leadership in team and organizational settings. Leadership is explored as an integral component of a student's career and life plan.
Repeatable to a maximum of 12 credit hours.
ESHESA 2575 - Student Organization Leadership Training (3)
Overview of the theory and skills necessary for the practice of effective leadership in student organization settings. Leadership is explored as an integral component of a student's activity in Ohio State student organizations.
ESHESA/BUSMHR 3221 - Leadership and Innovation (3)
This course is built on intellectual and experiential engagement with innovative leadership. Students are challenged to develop better problem-solving skills in a team-oriented atmosphere, and through the use of creativity, learn to view challenges from new and different perspectives.

KNSISM 4245 - Leadership & Programming in Sports Industry (3)
Methods of leadership and programming in sport industry organizations.
Prerequisites: Major in Sport Industry or minor in Coaching Education. Not open to students with credit for both EduPAES 245 and 545.
MILSCI 2001 - Individual Leadership I (2)
This course is designed to develop individual leadership skills and inspire self-confidence through experiential learning activities, using critical reasoning and problem solving skills, while applying communication and conflict resolution skills.
Prerequisites: All Cadets enrolled in Military Science courses must have a physician complete a Department of the Army DA Form 345-R, Medical Fitness Statement for Enrollment in Basic Course, Senior ROTC, in order to participate in any Army ROTC physical activity including: physical fitness training, laboratory, and field exercise training.
MILSCI 2002 - Individual Leadership II (2)
The course places emphasis on teamwork in developing effective leadership skills, self-confidence, critical reasoning, problem solving skills, and applying communication and conflict resolution skills during training exercises.
Spring Semester. PSYCH 4522 - Organizational Psychology (3)
Overview of theory, method, and practice of organizational psychology: motivation, job attitudes, leadership, groups, organizational design.
Prerequisites: 2220 and 2300. Not open to students with credit for 522.
PUBAFRS 2130 - Leadership in the Public and Nonprofit Sectors (3)
An examination of conceptual frameworks and theories of leadership effectiveness in the public and non-profit sectors, as well as the practices, strategies, and habits of successful public and non-profit leaders.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 290.

ESHESA 2571S - Leadership In Community Service (3)
Introduction to the knowledge, skills, and competencies for responsible service and leadership in diverse communities. Preparation for engaged, responsible, and active community involvement and leadership.
Repeatable to a maximum of 12 credit hours.
ESHESA 4239 - Leadership for Social Change (3)
This course provides an opportunity for students to explore leadership theory and practice through a critical lens. By applying concepts and critiques from critical theory to well-known theories and models of leadership, this course will help students gain important skills in critical thinking and analysis and learn to deconstruct dominant ideologies and understandings of leadership.
ENR 3500 - Community, Environment and Development (3)
Social change related to natural resource and environmental issues. Includes a focus on community-level initiatives, environmental social movements, and issues of environmental justice.
Spring Semester. Prerequisites: 2300 (203), RurlSoc 1500 (105), or Sociol 1101 (101).
POLITSC 3912 - Political Leadership (3)
Establishment of a working definition of political leadership, investigation of recruitment of leaders, analysis of major functions political leaders perform, and assessment of consequences of political leadership.
Prerequisites: 1100 (100), 1200 (101), or 3100 (300).  Not open to students with credit for 612.
PUBAFRS 2120 - Public Service and Civic Engagement (3)
Explores how students learn to be engaged citizens, concepts related to citizenship and leadership, and how to incorporate these concepts into their lives and the lives of others with whom they interact.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 240.

Ethics and Diversity (choose one):
BUSMHR 4020 - Cross Cultural Management (3)
Basic elements of culture and its impact upon business.
Prerequisites: 2291 (BusAdm 499.01), and 3000 or BusAdm 555.
COMLDR 3535 - Toward Cultural Proficiency (3)
Learner effectiveness in multicultural, multiracial learning environments. Strategies for obtaining insight into learners from varied cultures. Theory will connect practice through service-learning using cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for AEE 594. GE cultures and ideas and diversity soc div in the US course.
COMLDR 5430 - Professional Leadership Ethics (3)
Discussion of public debates over the ethics and integrity of leadership from recent years. These debates and continued exposure of unethical behaviors by some leaders has spurred new examinations of how those who are responsible to the public.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for AgrComm 600.
COMM 3668 - Intercultural Communication (3)
An examination of the role of intercultural communication in organizational contexts and the attendant effects on the creation and transmission of cultural consciousness, knowledge, tradition, and practices.
Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 368.
ECON 3048 - Ethics and Social Responsibility in Economic Life (3)
Examines the role of ethical norms and social constraints in determining economic outcomes.
Prerequisites: At least one of these courses, 1100.01 (110.01), 1100.02 (110.02), 1100.03 (110.03), 2001.01, 2001.02 (200), 2001.03H (200H), 2002.01 2002.02 (201), or 2002.03H (201H), is recommended. Not open to students with credit for 348. GE soc sci indivs and groups course.
ESHESA 2577 - Leadership and Inter-Group Dialogue (3)
Builds on intellectual and experiential engagement with issues of difference, diversity, social justice, and alliance building.
Repeatable to a maximum of 12 credit hours.
PHILOS 3300 - Moral Philosophy (3)
A rigorous examination of major issues in moral philosophy, such as the basic moral value(s); the relation between value and obligation; justification of moral judgment.
Prerequisites: Philos major, or 9 cr hrs of Philos course work exclusive of 1500, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 431.
PSYCH 3375 - Stereotyping and Prejudice (3)
Lectures address experimental research in stereotyping and prejudice; readings focus on historical, cultural, and sociological perspectives on issues related to gender, ethnicity, and social class.
Prerequisites: 1100 (100) or 1100H (100H). Not open to students with credit for 375. GE diversity soc div in the US course.

Capstone (choose one):
Major Department 4193 or 5193 - Individual studies - Project designed and completed with faculty advisor.
Prerequisites: Permission of instructor. 
COMLDR 4480 - Capstone in Leadership (3-4)
Application of leadership theories, principles, concepts, and skills in a setting aligned with the student's academic and/or career interests. Students will plan, conduct, reflect, and report the project in conjuction with a faculty supervisor.
Prerequisites: Permission of instructor. This course is graded S/U.
